Vintage U.S. Joint Service Commendation Medal/ Pendant. Vintage Necklace.

Suspended from the vintage gold tone necklace (1990s)is an authentic vintage American medal for outstanding service in joint military roles. The Joint Commendation Military Medal was issued by the Department of Defense and established June 25th, 1963. The medal features a striking gold-tone eagle with outstretched wings against a rich green background with stars. Framed by a laurel wreath and accented with a field of stars, the medal symbolizes, leadership, honor, and patriotic service.
I purchased this and some other medals from a vendor who purchased them from an auction of a U.S. medal memorabilia. I purchased the fabulous gold tone necklace from another vendor, then I shortened the necklace to approximately 17 inches plus a 1.75 inch extender chain and finished it with a lobster clasp and a green jade bead to the end of the extender chain. Can be worn at 17-18.75 inches. The pendant measures 4 cm across and hangs 1 inch from the main chain, including the pendant and bail is about 2.75 inches (see photo) The gold tone section at the bottom of the pendant is a shiny gold tone and the rest is a duller tone.
