Vintage Locket. Garnet Nuggets Freshwater Pearl Necklace.

This exquisite vintage gold-filled double picture locket on a handmade wire-wrapped necklace of faceted garnet nuggets and freshwater pearls, creating an classical look of antique charm and timeless craftsmanship.
The front of the locket features ornate scroll engraving surrounding a central crest motif, while the reverse side remains plain—ideal for a personalized engraving. The interior is marked “¼ Gold Shell” with a heart and W&H Co. hallmark, identifying the esteemed Wightman & Hough Company, renowned for fine lockets crafted between 1856 and 1922.
Each garnet nugget is an irregular shape and faceted, measuring approximately 1–2 cm, with small freshwater pearls. The necklace is hand-wrapped in gold fill wire and finished with a gold-filled lobster clasp and 2-inch extender, allowing it to be worn between 16 and 18 inches.
The locket measures 1.25 inches long by 1 inch wide and opens and closes securely. Minor signs of age include three subtle dings on the back that are barely noticeable.
